Funeral Services
Pastor Dean Shropshire or Pastor Greg Kalstrup will officiate funerals for all chooselife partners and their immediate family members. (chooselife Partners have attended all four growth track classes). An individual who is not a partner of chooselife will not be eligible for these services performed by a chooselife pastor.
Services
Scheduling a funeral service at chooselife CHURCH will be determined by the church calendar and the family will be notified as soon as possible if the church sanctuary is unavailable for the date chosen, or Pastor’s schedule will not accommodate the date requested.
chooselife offers two types of funeral services:
A Funeral Service - This service is defined by the presence of the body. The family may choose to have an open or closed casket service. A graveside service normally follows a funeral service, but will require another officiant to perform the graveside ceremony, not a chooselife Pastor.
A Memorial Service – This service follows a cremation, which is the disposal of the body. Families may choose to have the ashes on display in an earn, or not at all. The memorial service can be a few days after cremation or weeks later at the family's discretion.
Care Ministry
The Care Ministry of chooselife CHURCH is available to serve a meal for the deceased partner’s immediate family. The Director of the Care Ministry will contact the family representative to determine the day and time which would be best for the meal to be delivered, and the volunteers will be scheduled along with the food items to be dropped off at the assigned location and time agreed. The church will provide paper goods for a funeral for the meal, if necessary, to include paper plates, flatware (knives, spoons, forks), napkins and cups for the amount of people for which we as a church have prepared food. (Immediate family only)
Funeral Service Details
When the following form is submitted, a chooselife staff member will contact you to schedule an appointment with the family. All details of the service will be discussed at this at this appointment, including the date and time of the service. At chooselife, we endeavor to fulfill your requests but may not be able to accommodate all of them. We will ensure that you and your loved ones receive the greatest care during your time of loss.
